Schumi... Is back for Formula One 2010

1 People commented...

Michael Schumacher is one of the finest and greatest sportsperson... He is on such person who has revolutionized Formula One racing, he is a legend in himself, and he had inspired many young and potential F1 drivers... Till date he had clinched the winner spot 91 times (I would be ecstatic to se it totaling 100), along with that he had claimed world championship for 7 times....

Certain standards and merit that he has achieved will be in record books for long time...

All F1 lovers are missing the jump on the podium that Schumi used to take on winning each race....

Many would be eagerly waiting to see him race back on circuit, the first race is due on 14 Mar at Bahrian Dubai...
Before that the earliest one can see him blaze the circuit by first week of Feb when the official testing will start....

It will be a great treat to him stand on the podium at the end of race... And leading to proclaim his 8th world championship.. But this time he will not be in RED as this season he will be racing for Mercedes

For me it's a treat or a New Year gift by the new of Michael returning back to F1 after three years of retirement.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow....

2 People commented...
This weekend we had a weather alert "severe snow showers" and it was anticipated we might witness 12-18 inches of snow....

Saturday roughly at 3:00pm, the first flakes started to ascending, it is always fun to be outside at that time, as it was not windy and just below sub zero, which is good once you face -18 celsius (as last week recorded te lowest temp)

I was talking to a friend on mine and was describing, then i realized that she had visited to Leh / Ladhak last summer, best place to travel during summer

As evening approached the wind grew strong and the snow flakes were bigger, grass were getting covered under a fine sheet of flakes, and was getting darker.

Meanwhile i was watching a movie "Reservoir Dogs" (Hindi movie Kaante story line is copied from it), bu then it was 11:00pm i wanted to go out and see how much i had snowed, but more fun and struggle was stored for us, as the door opens outwards, show had covered it anad we were struggling to open and get free.
Once we were out, the snow was about a feet high and it was still heavy.

By AM when i was up, snowing had stopped and we had roughly 2 feet of snow, whole area was covered, and most people were outside clearing up from drive-way, pavement, and cleaning their car (most of the car were submerged way deep in snow)

Snow was all around, and i was later busy making a snowman (Mr. Snowie), it turned out to a big one, I made a nice hat for Mr. Snowie, thanks to the vegetable in by fridge it got its face created…

So this Christmas i am not all alone i have a company to raise toast and wait to get goodies from Santa, if he plans to drop by for coffee and cookies

Happy Holidays: Office days leading towards Christmas..

0 People commented...
December is one of the finest month to be in NY, as each day passes by we approach closer and closer towards Christmas and New Year celebrations...

As the Holiday spirit catch up people at work become more casual, say for example, the dev team to whom I do support used to dump in on an average of 50+ change list as part of release going to Production in a weeks time, and this Friday evening we had only 5 change, clearly indicating holiday is on the air.

First week of December all are in line of fire, as all want to get rid of all pending task and they have peace full time spent with family and friend... being with your loved once is what festive and vacation means I guess?

And the client for whom I do work just to have the icing done and sweeten up promotion list is out by mid of Dec, that leads to more beer toasting parties... this time it was on17, and by 11 am we had an email with subject "Drinks on Me at Harmony by 4" that was it, people started to leave for pub by 3:30 and made sure that they are not in a state of returning back to office....

This is how the weeks would be leading towards New Year.... and come Jan... All be glued back to there desk and patching and releasing new and more stuff to Production.

This is how office looks...

16 Days to go!!!! 2010 is sneaking around....

0 People commented...

Okay its way late at night... the clock is ticking way ahead of 1:15AM and I do not feel to call it a day and sleep.
Moreover its Sunday night.... which is most depressing time, week after week as it reminds we are heading towards a new week and will eventually lead to 5 day working week :-0

Okay back to the post... while I was setting up the alarm, so I wake up on time to start Monday Morning and be in office on time, but then I realized its 14 Dec and we are just 16 days for New Year, a new calendar year, a bunch of new Resolution to make and make sure that those Resolution do not see light of February, I guess that what resolutions are for.

I bet when we do look back, most would quote, ahhh the year just flew by, I still remember what I did for last new Year or the about the vacation trip back in Feb, gosh we have already crossed 350 days of this year, months just flew buy, and 2010 is already sneaking.

I assume only a fraction of people might say, it was a long year that made me feel I lived a life time watching the calendar page turn day after, month after month leading toward dec.

Every year, around this time or in next few days I used to jot down what I want to plan, what I will not plan, or what I want, what I do not want, what I will, what I wont and such thing, but this time around I feel I would be planning not for myself, I should be planning for other I mean, it will be a great day for me, if on a any given day I am able to help anyone in anyway with no personnel benefit, I do hope I am able to tick as many such days.

While all this when we / I are busily talking about what’s in store for, are we missing today, isn’t it better to live in today, rightly quoted by Oogway (Old Tortoise from Kung Fu Panda) “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, That is why it is called the ‘present’”

But still this should not stop any one of us plan how and where to celebrate welcoming 2010.

p.s. I roughly and somehow manage to continue with my post, for nearly one full year.

My First Doodle Art...

0 People commented...

This is the first Doddle (as the word define an unspecified drawing made while persons attention is occupied otherwise), this one started with no certain plan and pattern I happen to lost completely in one of the status call as we had a major release planned up as we have some pending action items.

So as the call lasted for some 45 mins i was jotting down pointers from the call and besides that i was busy with the new art that i learned from a blogger / author Preeti Shenoy
I visit her blog quite often and she is a amazing narrative... so this post of her on Doddle she posted with doddle art drawn by her kids... and looking at that i starting thing why should not i be doing this as well.

The reason this thought came to my mind, as i have the habit of drawing random lines, circles and squares while I do talk or in a conf call over phone (i will attach a few more of them as they would be scattered on my desk)

I am not sure why i do draw line / circles / squares, if you have any slightest idea please do comment on this.

Till them i will be doddle next time while in a conversation on Phone :-0

Got my US State ID card

2 People commented...
Okay finally after being in US for more then two years and eight month I tagged up with a friend and went to DMV to get a state ID card, which is sort of useful as an ID proof when ever u are to enter a place where photo identification is required…

So all this time I used to show my Indian PAN card or my Passport to enter all such place....

One such incident, some months back when we all planned to visit a club where we have been once earlier, back then my PAN card was good enough to give me an entry, but this time some rule had changed and only valid passport can be used as a photo ID card…

And guess what I was not let go in.... All my friends told let go back, by then I had strike a deal with a security staff and agreed to let me in if I get a photocopy of my passport. Then what I took a ferry (as the pub is located in Queens and my office is located in Manhattan both are island) reached Manhattan and grabbed a. photocopy of my passport and made way back in an hr...

Things were not to happen so easy, by then the security guys were replaced by some new guy and it was back to square one, this dude was in no mood to let me enter....

I told him call Bob, he responds back u know him... I said yes.... So finally he let me in...

So much fight to get in a pub :-0 but still all this incidence and hassle still nit motivate me to get a ID proof

This friend of mine was planning to get his license renewed and asked me want to come, so I just happen to go with all the documents required and got it done this time.....
So I am just waiting to enter a pub with my new State ID card next time..... Will let all now when that's going to happen.

Coffee Club

0 People commented...

Office Pantry is the most important place on any IT floor, Any one can advocate this point, as it can be seen as a best place where a small office talk to take place. Moreover, coffee is best during afternoon when any one will feel a bit heavy and is in need for the extra caffeine added to his blood stream that helps trigger back brain cell...

As I do write, I am just sipping freshly brewed coffee

I am part of a coffee club on our floor, I joined it couple of months back, when my developer colleague asked me to taste the coffee that he was brewing the coffee brewing aroma itself was great, since then I am hooked to it.

As we do get roasted coffee bean, which is grinded daily for people who like to have a caffeine jolt added to their system... and in next 10 mins the coffee is ready to be served.

The most active person who prepares coffee every other day is moving to a new team from Monday, and we having a small talk who is going to run the daily coffee... all started in a laughter break as he comment don’t worry guys i will run down from 15 to 7th floor for coffee everyday :-0

Later i came to know that the coffee club is running from last 3+ years and the people who started are long gone... So in this case people are just passing variable only constant is COFFEE POT, long leave coffee club... and let it spread the strong coffee aroma every day....

CCD

2 People commented...

CCD (Cafe Coffee Day), some how I love having coffee at time in CCD, main reason would not be due to the great coffee that they serve. Because its a nice place where you can end up listening nice music and as soon your coffee is finished they do not ask you to leave, reason behind would be the premium coffee rate that they do charge...

Long back when Pune, had its first CCD (I assume it’s the one on FC road), many would have shocked to hear the price for a cup of cappuccino. Even it puzzled me how I start paying 30 Rs for a cup of coffee, for the same coffee Anna used to charge 5 Rs (Guys the cost matters a lot during college time)

Later when I started working, I used to start, spend time in CCD with my friend, as was quoted as "cool" thing to spend time at CCD.

But this time while i was in Pune, I finally met a special friend whom I have not met in last 4 years. We used to communicate over Phone / msg / emails, When we finally met we were not able to start the conversation (where as on Phone we used to manage an hr time quite easily).

And as days (as i had only 4 week vacation in Pune) went by we had spent many hours in CCD, it was fun and really nice... Know this is one of the reason I do love CCD as they really do help connect with your old friend

25th Nov: Its my friends wedding...

2 People commented...

As I do write this post, date on the calendar is already showing 25th Nov (in Pune), this is the day when my closest friend is getting married to love of her life.

Let me rewind the clock back a bit, some time in Jun 2006, that when we started to interact, as we both we working in the same project, its one of the few time when one interacts with a person and it do mark a beginning of new and long relationship.

Some how we both are great talkers, and trust on this one we can talk on anything for any amount of time, easy to stay will be we can start our discussion from needle to rocket science (is best said in hinglish -- sui se lekar jahaz tak)

We used to talk for hours and hours, that’s how strong and talkative we are, and our relationship and friendship has grown over time, just a hour back, when clock did tick past 12:00am (25th Nov in Pune). She sms me "yaar the day has started n am getting nervous" and followed by a phone talk for another 15 mins.

I really wanted to part during her happiest moments...
A hearty cheer to our friendship and god bless her with all happiness in her marital life...

Last two weeks!!!!

0 People commented...
So how do I start this time.... Okay it's been 10 days since I came back to NY from my vacation / work in Pune (described with more details in my earlier post)

I traveled to India on Oct 8 during then fall had just started tree were in the mood of changing their attire from green to various shades of orange or flaming yellow which is initial warning signs of the long winter which is about to start, lately the days were also getting shorter....

And when I returned from my vacation most of the trees were showcasing their skeleton look.... And the days had become much shorter, it’s depressing to see evening approaching by 4:30pm, but to some relief last couple weeks we are not having the brutal wind-chill factor and cold....

It's a kind of pleasant to roam around in a sweater....

This time along with me my team member did arrive he is travelling for 4 months, that’s what the duration all come (I came for 3 months and by this time completed 17 months on the run)

My first weekend went just perfect... i met my friend she is due to deliver her first kiddo in couple of weeks time, just to mention the enthusiasm level we went for evening 10:30 show (Ajab prem ki gajab kahani -- to a extent it was a laugh riot)... and on saturday we were on a shopping spear and spent close to 6 hrs...

By Sunday evening the fear of Monday had already started to grip, fearing the inevitable....

Happy Birthday Ishana... She turned One!!!!

0 People commented...
She Turned One on 6th Nov!!!

This snap was taken a week before her b'day, i visited during dinner time and have a nice dinner as well... :-0

I was not able to meet Ishu (her brother Rishi named her "Tukku") managed to reach their home only by 11:30, by then the year old kiddo was all tired after the big party..

Last 4 weeks...

0 People commented...
Time flies by... on yes today i can surely say that "time does fly", I had actually planned a 3 weeks vacation/ work in Pune, which i dragged to 4 weeks but which i feel way too less time to be in Pune, with parents and with friends....

This trip i was planning in such a way that i am with family / friends for Diwali, and indeed one should be in India, if you want to celebrate Diwali in its full festive and glittery way

My college friend group, some how started a tradition of visiting each place for Holi and Diwali, But from last 4 Diwali / Holi it has not been possible for all 5 of us to meet, but still who all are in town do meet together and visit each other house and so have our respective share of sweets :-0

A day after Diwali, a news supplement (Pune Mirror -- run by Times of India) had a cover story on Diwali sweets and calorie count, as they mentioned people do gain 3 to 15kg (7-20 lbs) during Diwali weeks, thanks to all sweet made in Pure Ghee in Home and at every body place... And i did manage to put of 2kg of weight in that week itself that to all the lovely sweet :-0

I happen to meet few of my old friends whom i am meeting after 4-5 years, it was great to catch up with them

I loved riding my bike (CBZ) i clocked 1400km in 4 weeks time

I could not resist having pani-puri but was bowled out in just 4 and followed coughing next 5 mins before having the 5th one... staying in US has lowered my resistance to spicy pani-puri

I happen to book a 3BHK apartment in Wakad (Pune)

I had late midnight talk lasting couple of hrs with a friend, sitting by the pavements ( as this dude is mostly working in shifts)

I had at least 7 parties with my friends office / friends / office / friends

I did spent 3 hrs with a friend for a single cup coffee treat in CCD

From my flight to India

2 People commented...
So here I an waiting in the loungue after check-in by bags and followed by security check where gosh as usual the scurity sensor had to beep and you would be ask to get rid of your shoes, wallet, watch belt phew I wonder how those guys woud be travelling who do have loads of piersing done on their body.....

A funny incident just happened in front of me during the security check, this dude always passed and the alarm used to go the security officer lady was getting anger as for the first time he had some keys in his pocket... but for the second third nad fourth time that fellow did not had anything whih should trigger the alarm but phew.... later it was noted that a lady on the adjacent counter had kept her bag and that was making the alarm go on....
Finally in the fifth attempt the guy was able to pass with no trouble I could see the smile on the fellow and officers face :-0

so in next few mins we all would be boarding our flight AI-144, and in approximate 7 hours the flight will be making a technical stop in Frankfurt and in another 7 hours our flight would be crusing in Indian skies, once in Mumbai I would have to travel for another 3 hr to reach Pune my hometown

I will post on how the travel was and how my city Pune my family and friends are... Till then cheers

But in a way the Diwali was kind of special to me...

In 07 it was on a weekend so our group was visiting from each others house and were having a great time, only missing factor was bursting of crackers but we did play cards, food, dance music and full masti....

In 08 it was on a weekday I was in office but evening I went to friends place where they have setup the pooja table and decorate the house with light and with the earthen candles, and a delicious dinner...
So in a way last both Diwali was special....

One of the happiest day for me.....

1 People commented...
Okay how do I start with this post.... I do have a lot to tell and really do not want a long saga to be written as I do assume If a person is able to express his happiness or emotions in brief that the best (s)he will be doing.....

Okay let me get started....

She is my best friend and one such person with whom I share all my talk and discussion, we were able to strike the right cord and we were talking for hours sometime on everything....

So finally after long struggle ups and down she is getting married to the person she is in LOVE
But the funny thing to share we have met only couple of time in last 2 and half years most of the time I was not in India and when I was in Pune she was out (I guess the usual story between IT saga)

So finally the dates are set and in Indian style it's time to have "Mehandi" on her hand and dance masti.... But gosh I hate to say that it's likely I would not be able to her marriage....

But not short to mention I am very very happy for her I will backing her up...
Love /Ani

U2 Concert

0 People commented...
At last Finally i happen to attend U2 concert on 24th @ Giants Stadium.... I am really confused how to start the post and what all should i be mentioning in this post... as i do not want to just lengthen the post :-0

So we (my Friend and his wife) reached the stadium parking lot by 5:30….. we came to now that we are too early (which is not like a true Indian :-0) ….

In US any such event is a full day family event… parking lot do open by 8:00 am and people do Grill have fun listen to music and drink and by the time all would have already reached a trans state (thanks to the drinks)

So we finally reached our seats by 7:30pm… centre stage was really amazing….

The evening started with MUSE, as they entered the stage by 8:00 and started playing nice numbers,,, as this was my first concert I was already fealing the pulsating heavy music…

And by 9:15 U2 (Bono / Edge / Larry / Adam) entered and as soon Larry hit the first beat on drums all (84,000+) people we on their feet… and screaming out load

So for the next 2 hours and 15 mins one after another great songs was played…

Few highlights that I would love to mention:
- They did dedicate a song to all the people who protest and lost their lives post IRAN election
- Then a song was dedicated to “Aung San Syu kyi” (Burmese leader) who is under house arrest for most of the last 20 years, they had more ten hundred volunteers with her mask walking down the stage.
- And a lovely video speech which was given by Desmond Tutu (A South African Nobel laureate) Speech was more asking all human to be ONE and strive to stop all suffering and make this a place a beutiful

When the show was to end… no one from the crowd would have wanted the evening to end….

So finally after the evening i am one of the music follower of U2…

This is the video which is shot with my Phone (sorry for the quality and after 10 seconds in the video you would have to tilt you head one side to view it :( its more like me being armature in shooting a video )

I joined GYM... best thing to happen to me!!!!

3 People commented...
hmmmm.... me what to tell about.... i am a person who has never been to a GYM till this age (28 years and 175 days).....

It was not like i do run away from the concept of being healthy is one of the best gift one can gift himself... i guess (still not sure why) the reason i never happen to join a gym, would be i was not able to convince myself with the idea of going to GYM and doing exercise and try to match up with some one who is busily pumping iron or who had ran across the country on a treadmill :-0

Some background story... my brother is complete opposite to me.... he used to go to gym religiously 6 days a week and pump as much iron he can.... he used to visit a local gym... when i asked him why do you not join a the latest trendy gym which showcases a dozen of treadmill at the entrance… he used to say “Bhai” they do not have large variety of dumbbell’s which will motivate me to pump more (he used a 55 pound for his triceps, that roughly the weight which is allowed as a check-in baggage in an International Airlines)

So finally I joined this gym (NYSC) which is just across my office (I have been walking across the same street from last 24 months)
Day1: I was wandering in the GYM as if a kid is visiting to a new play area and he is not sure how to play with them… so I ended up doing swimming

Day2: I guess this is it !!!! I should get a personnel trainer for few days so that he will walk me across and make me comfortable using all the equipments

Day3 : I was introduced to a trainer “Karl Scott” and guess what… he used to be working in IT industries till 6 years back… this helped me a bit in a way as I share the same work background….

Day4: And now Karl made me realize what all I cannot do and what I can do….

So its been roughly a week since I joined… and as of today I do have some sore pain hehehe….. I guess I have to pass through it….

I wish to myself that I am motivated enough and do continue….

I guess i do not end in this way :-0

0 People commented...
Okay the months September is on a roll for me.... first it stared with convincing 7 people to watch "US Open Women’s Final".... at first all were skeptical about the seats which we ended up booking... and later we were also haunted by people telling that before you are comfortable, the women’s match would be over...

And trust me all are really happy that finally we all up for the match live....

And the second this which is to happen on Thursday (Sept 24) i am going with Along with my old roomy to watch U2 concert (360degree tour)
Again I am sure I would be spell bound after the event....

Sketch : III (My fascination is still on

1 People commented...
Okay, i am still able to survive after the bug named "sketching" which infected me a month back... at that time i was under influence that... its just another passing fascination... which will run away as day goes by... but its still on.... Hmmm this time... i did try to sketch "Common Man"... yup its the same which came to life first in 1958 by the famous cartoonist RK Laxman....

1. This is the first one which is attempted.... and was successful in my term after couple of attempts and some time... This image reminds me of the add "Keep Walking" (Johnnie Walker)

.

2. After the first one... i might read many cartoon strips which RK Laxman used to publish in "Times OF India"... This one i liked a lot... it the typical Netagiri wala..

3. This one... while we were coming back to our desk after a coffee break... some paper napkins were left on the "Manish" desk this is what happened :-0

4. Okay the same story, second day.... i ended up with this one... as it was raining earlier in the day... so our "Common Man" has to use umbrella to go for a coffee break.... :-0

What a great weekend it was….

0 People commented...
This weekend, one of my dear friends were moving to a bigger and a beautiful apartment…
And as this apartment also do come with a much bigger rule book then the house itself… first hurdle was that they do have strict time line when people are to move… no move over weekend. No move after 5pm… gosh it’s like a strict military rule…. As we had big rulebook to follow… I had taken a day off from work and was all set to help my friends in their shifting.

Do things started from Thursday evening, I went directly to their place, and helped then packing things in carton so we called it a day end at 2:30am and with couple of beers…

The big move day “Friday”… all weather channels were screaming their lungs out that it will rain crazily… we all were tensed. Finally the movers showed up by 11:30 and we were all loading and done and just prying “let it not rain, let it not rain”… by 3:00 the new apartment was piled with 20+carton and furniture all over the place and it did not rain all this time :-0

In addition… just then I had to login for office work and was down with that for 3+ hours…

Then we had a herculean task of unpacking and getting things in place… and the big question was still un-answered… “Where will be the TV placed?” after lot of discussion and moving things hear and their we managed to get the best placement (I guess we are not again re aligning the layout coming weekend hehehe)

So Friday evening Hall was set in and will had all our gang reached.. and the party started… more beer till 3am :-0

Day 2:
We had to wrap up the old apartment.. and hand that over… it was an another big thing… and in between all this we planned that cook dinner for our self and ended up with the task… and how can we not watch the new Hindi movie “Love Aaj Kaal”… I actually went only to admire all the ‘nakras & adaye’ (fun act & looks) of “Deepika”.. but ended up watching “Harleen Kaur”… (next day I came to knew that she is a Brazilian mode… but still she was amazing).
We came back to the den and the party continued till 2am…

Day 3:
Its Sunday… the fun and party spirit was still in the air, we planned to had a big feast… we cooked lunch and by the time we had it was 5pm. So the long move and the 72 hour stretch party came to an end by 8pm we all were being haunted by the though of Monday morning office…

To tell you I really don’t know since when I used to draw on small papers when I am in some conversation over phone... it’s like if my conversation is to last for long time..... Then I end up scribbling some odd objects or images on piece of paper (mostly it would be a used print out or some paper napkins) that’s lying around my desk.....

I will share those images as when I do collect them and I am able to arrange them in some way (it would be still meaningless but I will love to add them).... usually the scribbling that I do would best describe the state of conversation and I would draw accordingly... say like

- When the conversation is just the general, then mostly I do draw lot of boxes (all the geometrical shape I do recall from my class)... and try to connect them with as much lines as possible (connecting lines would be to state if all the different topics are connected or interconnected)...

- When the discussion is more relating to some subject like say office stuff, say if there are question with no answers, discussion going nowhere I end up drawing lines with no connecting points...

The fun part is still felt... once the call is done... I usually go through just to see what the call had resulted, which might have some conclusion, some interpretation, some unanswered questions... and so on

If on any day I try to clear up my desk I will end up with a stack of such paper.... actually I feel I should be collecting them.... and if in future I happen to meet up some therapist, hope she do not rank me in the elite group...

Oh let me cut the nonsense.... which is going nowhere… enough of the crap on a Saturday morning…
If someone survived, after listening to all torture let me continue on which I was to say…

So where was I… oh yes… the new sketches… I managed to draw some structural / designer house just for you my dear….

1. So this is a master piece which I has achieved... a Friday / Saturday party room... its loaded with a dance floor, a DJ corner with high end music equipment… a large fridge only to store beer…. And for those lazy people a card table :-0

2. This is a small bunk house, phew after all the gambling and dancing and partying place where all can put up… for a sound sleep… please do not snore :-0

My friends...

1 People commented...
Back during our school day, I guess all would have written an essay / letter “My best friend”, it was the funniest moment, when we all were asked to write an essay / letter during our writing session in school, and once we were done, we all had to read out loud and clear (our class teacher tricked us by not mention the reading part in the beginning).

And this is what usually will happen with all, when I had to read my essay I would start with “Sandeep is my best friend…”, and later when Sandeep had to read he would typically start …. “Amol is my best friend”… and so on… by the end of the class we can see a chain of best friend would have formed, Thanks to the essay writing exercise… half of the call would be divided in fighting saying that “I assumed you to as my best friend… but you took his name” and blah blah blah…

But the interesting part would be how the best friend cycle do continue in our life and… as time passes by… one get friend rot many person at a certain point our bets friend list so keep on getting small… where as we all keep on going gaga about the technological development, that would have become small, we can reach out and talk to any body at any point of time… I do not have to write those postal letters which would take weeks to deliver and to get a respond back another couple of weeks… its like sending a greeting during Dipawali and getting the reply back for Christmas.

But I feel the reaction is opposite… as the would is getting small so are our friend list getting small, and we do spend lesser amount of time in meeting people in person…

To mention… one of my friend who was my colleague, whom I have not met in last 3+ years… and we were not in contact(other then the occasional email forwards and messages) till 6 months back and today, there are time when we do spend… 3 to 4 hours at a stretch in talking…
Things which I wish and I hope I be able to do is, meet up with my friends or the people whom I know frequently in person, as human is a social animal…he had to be in the know list

Cheers to my entire friend, who have long gone...

This where best friends, I loved their humor.
The best would be where you do not have to gift anything... to you best friend... only a hug or a greeting would do all the trick
(Click on the image to read the comic strip)

One more on the turf... when you are with your best friend... you really do not have to speak... at time silence do speak more.... :-0

Princess Diana....

1 People commented...
The two most adeorable and beutiful person...

Princess Diana….

12 years back one of the most beautiful lady… died in a tragic accident….And today its Princess Diana’s Birthday day… At the time of demise Princess Diana was only 36 years of age… but she had achieved lot more fame and glory in her time….

Criticism and controversy was always around her life and most part of the time after her death also … it is like a magnetic effect, the more popular one become… the person is more prone to be found in between a controversy.... But it would be really not fair if Princess Diana is not remember for the noble and charitable work she used to do… people used to compare her as the next “Mother Teresa”

She used to visit people who are effected severe illness like AIDS and Leprosy, where most people do not get involved in spite associating them to some charitable organization….

In today time still people suffering for severe illness are not accepted in our society, but she can be remember as the first public person who was photographed for touching a person infected with HIV, which started the help understand people that a person infected with HIV do not transmit by mere physical contact.

I guess if Princess Diana was still living she would have been more involved in humanitarian work… and would be celebrating her b’day… long live the memory of late Princess.

King of POP.... Michael Jackson (A Tribute)

2 People commented...
King of POP:

Today later in the afternoon we started hearing that Michael Jackson has been admitted… and the worst news broke out by evening …. That the great, one and only King of POP breathed last and the world lost a great music star… such loss which will not be filled by time… such losses are rather permanent.

When I came to knew about Michael Jackson I felt like I myself had lost something in person… and the sudden gush of sorrow was in my eyes….

Back when I was in my 9th grade (1995) we got a new Tape recorder, and I would have took many weeks or a month to save enough money to buy my first cassette that to of Michael Jackson (History) which cost me 125/- back then… so its like more drear to me, the cassette is not in a working condition but I still do have it in my collection … and know is more memorable to me…

This is what we are going to miss…

Kale megha, Kale megha.....

1 People commented...
I love the rainy season the most….

I guess the reason being my native place which roots back in Kerala, where we do have nearing to 6 months of rain… and when it rains… it just pours and pours which do result in blossoming mother earth.. We can see the proof as the new plants and the greenery that engulf the landscape.

Back in Pune also we do get a decent rainfall… which does start sometime in June and do last mid or end September… usually we do correlate when Ganesh festival is over rain starts to reseed…

Our group used to have great fun every rainy season they still do have (I am not in Pune since last 2 season… I miss) back to the topic… once the rainy season is all set we used to have many trips… visiting Lonavala / Khadakwasla Dam / Mulsi Dam… this are the must place to visit when it do rain…and any one happens to be in Pune.

We started all this trip since we were in college days… back then we used to travel by local train… and once we had our bike then its was fun riding bike in rain…. Getting wet…. Feeling the slight shiver…

And once we are in Lonavala, the cutting chai was of great relief along with bhutta (roasted corn)

Few of the trips which I will not forget….

1. Once we all geared up and went lonavala… Not a single drop of rain happened... we were all depressed and late in the evening when we were getting down back home it started to rain… we still enjoyed…
2. In one such trip we all were travelling by train… and when we reached lonavala out of shear excitement Akki did some stunt when getting from the train... and he fell... did not hurt but we ended up getting lecture for elderly people for the nest 30 mins
3. One more great trip when we were on our way to Mulshi… the drive was amazing… at one stretch it was rainy so heavily that we all had to stop… as we were shivering due to the continues downpour… but those trips are worth…
4. Couple of years back in one such road trip during rainy season… we visited Dhagduseth Ganapati and we continued to some other temple… we again had a small tumble and fall and we all were searching for doctor in the small tiny village

We all guys had great time all this years during the rainy season…

The JINX Continues….

0 People commented...
Do you believe in JINX… I guess know I do have a strong belief in JINX…
In this case, I am not for talking anything related to evil topic or some wacky curse… I am talking about a series of event, which occur…, and you can okay be an audience… who cannot do anything.

In my case, I am not able to attend wedding of my close friends… I plan, plan, plan and boom I am not able to witness the beautiful nice day in my friend life…

I guess most of us would have some of the other such incidence to mark… share them if you can…

I started to track such events (JINX) some 3+ years back..

The latest one on the hook…
Since my collage day’s we were 5 member team, its like in all this year we all have and still share a great relationship with each other… we are like 5 fingers of the hand all different but go along well… we do have up and down but it all fun… One of the friend is getting married and I wanted to attend this… as My visa got expired in Feb, I was under the impression that 3 months is a long time for visa approval, but I was wrong … my visa is yet in process and I am not able to travel…

One more hooked…
My another friend was getting married.. This one was an arranged marriage, but the marriage was to take place in Assam (Northeast part of India). It was always a dream to travel to Northeast. So this time I am one more colleague decided to travel, all was decided, the groom has already reached and we were to catch him up at his hometown, I ended up informing that I am travelling to US..

Hear goes the third..
Third, My friends elder brother was getting married on Sunday, and I was travelling back to India, after almost a year… but this my some miscalculation from my side and I booked wrong ticket… I reached on the day but hours after the marriage

List is on and on….
Second happen when I travelled for the second time to US, and was due to return after 2 months… and time my close friend was getting married, she is like a best partner I would say. I was planned to return back couple of months before the marriage… but my stay got extended by still I was able to make… but strike two.. Only a week before a planned, my stay got extended and I was not able to travel.

The start…
My office friend was getting married to his love of life; my college friend and I had planned to attend it. Every thing (travel / stay/ what to where and what not) as this wedding was to happen in Lucknow, we did has a much coordinated travel plan we pulled out.
And then just 2 days before we were to travel… my PM(manager for office), informs me that my B1 visa (Business VISA interview to US) has been schedule the day after in Mumbai…

I realy do not wish to continue any more such incidence...
On a loter note; When i shared this to a friend... his reply was "Dude please do set multiple dates for your marriage" hope you can make in the first :-0

Its Quiz time… (Food that you love to be fat free) :-0

1 People commented...
Okay time to share a truth, food is one of my weakness (I am not going to discuss my other weakness at this point :-o)

In current time is guess all of us or most of us would always have small thought running in our head when ever we are to have a big bite of the favorite food which we do love.. few question which do haunt many would be, How much calorie does this have?... if I do have this daily will I really put some extra weight?(on top of my current weight) and so on…

Most of us would also be thinking why, why, this has to be have so much calorie of so much fats in a bite of my lovely food…

The best food which would be worst for heath would be many, just to mention a few
- French fries (why god has cheated on us)
- Chocolate fudges… and so on…

I seriously cannot mention any more as this really hurts me which is pen then down without tasting it hehehe

So all food lovers and friend… please do mention one or more food (which you do crave to have) And if you wish it to come true and that would have no calorie and no fat in it so that you could have that any time and every time… o-)

My List:
- Ice Chocolate Fudge(As I do write it I am having a portion of it with a guilt in me)
- Strawberry Cheese cake
- Dark Chocolate
- Alloo Paratha with more and more butter

Please do comment in your list and let me also know how much food lover all of you are….

Chai Time… Good old those days… (Cutting League)

3 People commented...
The attached snap is some 3+ years old, and I would admit that the most fun time we used to spend was during our “Chai Time” those were the time when we all used to have tea for at least tea for 3 times in a day which was more fun… it was not like that we all crazy for chai (tea) but its like the time where in we all gang would be together and do chit chat chit chat…

And we all used to have many such gang tea meeting J some time we used to go in to give company to all the sutta group (smokers) I do not smoke but would say was a passive smoker thanks to all my friend in office :-0

The best thing would be the discussion, it mostly was targeted… aaj ka bakra kaun J it its not like any one would be spared for this leg pulling… The most we used to tease was DD (Darshit) who was the healthy Harshad Mehta in our group… he was full time on Stock Market for him (A- Annual Meeting, B- BSE, C - Commodity D – Dividend and so on... and then Roopa who was the leader (big time bhai) most of the time :-0 then Sushma (She was sweet as per her, she is the most innocent person and rest of the world is pagal hai) Pratik (was cosmopolitan Gujju (but I guess a gujju will always be a gujju) Kunal the kwel Dude in our group,..

We used to call the chai time as (cutting league)
(Kunal, Roopa, Smarak(back row), Pratik S(Gujju), Pratik C, Anish(Thats me), Rohini )

Our whole group got disintegrated… all went to different way but I bet every one of us will still have a hearty laugh on the “cutting league” topic

The owrst side of working in US is like the cutting chai do get replaced by “Starbucks coffe” but trust me not for every day… (daam to costly a cappuccino $4 but most is the group which i will miss)

But lately I do see a small group is in formation in our office pantry (couples of Indian do have their coffee break to do all gossip) which is fun and I do enjoy looking at them J
cheers garam chai ki payali… to all my friends..

Who say its recession in US… it’s a fallacy…

0 People commented...
Last week I and my friend (same friend who had just got a license to drive “my friend dadooo”) so just to have to long drive and to gather some more driving experience we set for a shopping mall (with intension not to buy anything :-0)

It’s a 60miles drive to “Woodbury mall” is had got a great landscape (located it between mountains and it does have some 130+ brand store)… so we reached this place and were amazed to see the crowd…. It took more then 45+ mins to find a parking spot… (in spite is having 75 allays which can hold some 30-40 cars but still we were searching for parking… it like all wanted to spend money and shop till drop (not including 2 of us) does this symbolize that US is in recession…

And the best scene was outside outlet of “COACH” the store had so many shoppers already inside that they had to close the front door… and you can see already a big queue was forming outside to enter the store…. I was never able to find my people were fanatic to buy from COACH, and this I saw another waiting line outside one more store (forgot to take a pic of that)

So next time when ever one do hear… Customer confidence is down in US, Shopping Mall is facing the pinch due to recession… I know what the truth is...

I assumed that recession would mean:
- Less people going for shopping (people not spending fewer)
- Less Traffic on roads (people staying at home to save)

Weird Smells (radio channel quiz)

1 People commented...
Lately I have started listening to radio (actually its my morning alarm clock) which helps me sacrifice my bed every morning (it do start at 7:am and my next 30-45 mins I manage to sacrifice my bed J) it is a real tough fight every single day(specially week days)

Every day this host comes up with some sort of quiz of question and wait for people to call back with the view and comments.

Some time over the week, this fellow asked to his partner “Tell me the weird smell, that you love and drives you crazy”

She replied : Do you intend to fart.. he replied, not that every day I do…

Okay then they were serious and telling there replied few of that I remember

- Smell of crayons
- Smell of coffee bean
- Smell of Gasoline(Petrol as we do call in India )

Ever few listeners called back and replied

- A lady told smell of Tide (detergent soap) (I guess she do not work in a Laundromat)

I also was running down my own list

- During my childhood days I loved smell of petrol, whenever I used to pass my Petrol station I used to literally wait and take few long breath J
- Then I do love the smell of Marker pen (actually the spirit)
- When it rains for the first time…

I guess all would have some or the other weird smell weakness, do comment you’re your irresistible weakness :-0

Grilling and b’day cake…

0 People commented...
Two weeks back we (our gang) celebrated Tridib d’bay… it ended in way more then perfect.. as we had planned for doing grilling and the b’day party along with it…

B’day Cake: it was a chocolate Mocha cake and as usual we forgot to get some candle, so ended up with large fragrance candle… and we it was way to good decorated (trust me any one would desire for such a cake)

Grilling: This is my second summer in US, and we all wanted to do grilling from long time… during out last year trip the house which we had rented had a grill in the back yard we all enjoyed it… but never got a chance to try out… This we ended up buying a small grill and ended up cooking it was way to great, as food was prepared on charcoal smoke it has a different taste… we grilled a lot of meat, corn.. and we party whole night…

Slumdog Millionaire:Not a nice story... bad part -- Part II

0 People commented...
Last week, i happen to read that child artist "Azharuddin Ismail" who was part of Slumdog millionaire house was demolished by Anti-Slum in Mumbai... and i guess many people would have felt really bad that, the child artist were still in rags after the movie churning a ton of money...
But today i did see again an article from Director "Danny Boyle" that he would be visiting to India just to check back on this children state... And i wish those kids do get a better standard of living and education

The last post was full on against the director / producers, and this post is more like a ripple effect (Thanks to Newton I am was able to phase this – Every action has opposite reaction)

Navigator.... in Dadoo car!!!

2 People commented...

Yes last weekend i played the role of a Navigator to my friend(we were roommates for nearing to 2 years, he kicked me out before getting married ;) )...

He got his US driving license sometime Wednesday, and trust me this guy had never driven a 4 wheeler in India.... Where as do have a Indian driving license (which cost him some 600/-) and he decided finally to take up driving lesson as his wife (this guy married 6 months back) had threatened him if he is not getting a license.. poor chap succumbed to the threat :)

As his wife is back in India for couple of weeks he finally got his license and on Friday he rented a car (for the wk end) so it was time for some drive over the weekend-- tighten your seat belt, take long breath and zoom!!! zoom!!! Here we go in and around the city)

After a few initially hick-up all the driving was smooth enough... if the driving distance from point A to B was 10 km, we managed to reach that place in less then 15km... Thanks to my superior navigating skill (trust me I am good in this, I would confidently point my right hand and tell him to take a left turn... (Later he got used to it and told ... "you mean the other right... and I would YES :-0)

However, by Sunday evening we had successfully completed 250km driving... and we were back on our own safe and sound... he is all exited to rent next week also... I guess this time it would be a more relaxing drive :) :) but still fingers will be crossed hehehe

Slumdog Millionaire:Not a nice story... bad part...

0 People commented...
When Slumdog million was nominated for 10 academy nominee and happen to end up winning 8... All India was buzzing with happiness that a movie made on Indian slum managed to get 8 golden Oscar lady... we ended up with track "Jai Ho" was part of the election campaign...
Every day i was able to see in all print and television media Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, they were chased by paparazzi every where, some time i felt that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be having some breather time for paparazzi as they can easily stroll in any Shopping Mall...

But on the down side I really saw the bad news that "Azharuddin Ismail" (child character of Jamal) house been demolished... when i looked at those images its like he is still living in those tin roof top house which is part of Mumbai slum, it was demolished by Mumbai Anti-slum...
It like the child character we were used and thrown away after all the glitz and glory of Slumdog was en-cashed by the Producer's
I saw some time back "Azharuddin Ismail and Rubina Ali " (child cast for Dev & Freida) walking the ramp during the Lakme fashion week... where as if you are a model and walking down the fashion ramp you can earn anything between 10k-100k... and look where are those kids leaving....

This time again... British’s came shoot a movie (making more mockery of Indian Slums) en-cashed all the CASH($343 million) and GOLD(8 Oscars) and living happing in the mist of glory.. And this kid is sill living in the mist of dust...

Jai Hind...

I would like to state how it all started, April 2002 we had finishes exams of Final year of Graduation (along which we were also doing a Computer course – 2 year) we were having our usual “BHEL” at our joined when one of our friend happen to mention that a company “Kanbay” is looking out for computer engineer for 2-3 months project, we 3 (Akshay, Vikraam & I) thought why to waste the 2 months (period when we were awaiting our result) lets earn some money and have some first hand experience in working in a IT industry…. So next day we showed up for interview we had a large company of people showing up 35+, and the end 8 were selected and joined in the following weeks…

We were still continuing our college life… and having nice time and by the end of 2 months we all were ready to leave when our Manager “Mayuresh” let go 4 of them and asked 4 to stay back ( we three & Val)… and that was the day we have completed 7 years in Kanbay (Vikram happen to leave and pursue in another company) where as we 3 are still holding our horses and working in different project and still going on!!!!

Looking back I still can still say that that we decided what we had to do on a BHEL

The year 2002 was not a nice year to start any one courier as we had just starting out for the DOT com bubble which made sure that many batches of our senior left the campus without any offer letter… and looking at today condition thanks to the Financial Crises which has gripped from last year and half… many have lost jod and we will see many fresh graduates would be leaving campus with no offer letter… this seams more like a 7 year life circle…

I wish we do see next 7 flourishing years of jobs for all….

Therefore, he happens to visit one such housing project, which is inhabited by black community, day One he held hostage... and then the drama unfolds... Sudhir ends up studying up the living style in this community for next 10 years... He was in the middle of many drugs sale activity, drive by shooting, and many more activity…

Sudhir does give a good description how, drug trade is been managed on a bigger level, the hierarchy which is in place... how people are motivated to work as drug peddlers... as per facts, the low level drug peddler do earns less the minimum wage...
Sudhir does discuss many community issues, hope people do try to solve them, more and more small narrative incidence....

Summer, Summer !!! Holiday i miss them!!!

I loved the summer :)

Hey Hey please do not hate me for writing this..... but if you think on Summer is such a nice time... and it has it own sweet memories right fro our childhood...

How we all used to wait for the summer holiday during our childhood, as all the exams which would have be terrifying and tortured us for the last couple of months had came to an end.... starting summer we would have a long couple of months holiday... its the best time to play play and just play... and have some more new friends…

It’s like we have been waiting for 10 long snail paced months to pass over for the summer vacations...

As we were from Kerala (abhi a punekar) we used to visit our native place every alternate year... those time were real special as we used to et to meet out friend back in Kerala but with a small gloom of missing all the friends back in Pune... its like i used to witness finest things of both the place....

Okay other then all the play i used to love the Mangoes which we used to eat all the summer, and have those sugarcane juices to quest your thirst...
oh and more over how can i miss this, the ice scoops (we used to call it baraf golas) in all red yellow and glowing green...

But as time passed by and entered our college year and in our initial office slogging year... it seams like we have lost the beauty of the summer vacation.... ahhh!!!! i miss those summer vacation of my childhood, this are the time i feel science should have been really really developed and we could have that fancy time machine... i would have loved to visit back and re-live all those finest summer days...

I wish the we really do have those fancy gadget selling in Amazon :) in next 10 year... I bet I can run and hoop still at that age :)... thanks to this lazy IT job and sitting in office culture is killing all our sweet time....

Okay then on a sunny and hinny summer note... lets enjoying back the summer :)

Coloring and Drawing... (childhood revival)

Please do not stare at me by just reading out the subject line.... or rather do not assuming that i wanted a catchy subject line to start of with another story...

Okay Answer this one... When was the last time you have actually painted using those crayons or when was the last time you have drawn images using the dotted lines…

Ahhh!!! i should say that we are missing the greatest fun which we used you have during our early childhood days... when we all used to get indulged in doing all this activities....
I would say that i was a bit more luck for past some time as i had my drawing and coloring partner (Rishi -- he is 4 years old) when we all friends used to meet over the weekend... Rishi used to carry his big coloring box (I envy him during my childhood i used to have only 12 crayon and most of them would be in their final stage of life :) ) and this dude has a big box which would carry say more then 50 crayon color & color pencils....

So my drawing partner used to keep me busy in all his activities like while painting i had to paint a ear and then he would paint and i would have to agree in the last that "Rishi you were really great in coloring" he just had to listen that... and this smart chap would say "Anish no problem i will help you... :)...

But trust me I really used to enjoying those painting and drawing sessions...i guess i should get each one of you a set of coloring box and bunch of crayons... which would help you paint more images which you would have wanted to draw then!!!!

So when i am back do expect on odd weekend i am with by coloring book and paint :)

Imaginary dream or a real truth!!!

1 People commented...
Life the way it leads...

This is just a random thought which passed my mind on my b'day morning.....
I happen to ask my self few questions, for which trust me i did not had any clear answer or comment for them.

1. Is this what i am supposed to do....
2. Where am i supposed to live...
3. What do i plan for myself and for the people associated to me in any way...

With all this questions running around my mind.... i was bowled... and as an old saying goes "Sleep over on all the questions"... which might result in following solutions:

a. Either you would end up saying Dude i had a real bad dream... hope no once do ever dream any of that...
b. Else plain and simple... I did not have thought process :)

I did the first... :) and was happy to start my day... listening to sings while I was getting ready for office and the week as it was "Monday"... and again the wait started for the weekend... :)

Reading this one would definitely conclude that i am a real serious person in life (the seriousness usually do end in less then 5 mins)
